Stage Name: Chase Manhattan Born and raised in the infamous neighborhood of New York City's Spanish Harlem, Chase Manhattan, A student who never could express his true intelligence through the grades on his report card turned to the arts, First as a dancer, at the tender age of 10 years old, Chase breezed through an audition at his school which landed him a place in New York's elite dance school of Alvin Ailey later to go on and earn a scholarship at New York's Dance Theater Of Harlem. After seeing the Broadway production called "Tap Dance Kid" Chase fell in love with a new art which was singing. Music was the best way Chase thought he could express himself, with the new sound of HIP HOP emerging from New York's inner city streets Chase Manhattan strayed away from the singing and focused more on rap music, writing raps at the age of 14, Chase became very good at it, only after seeing his older brother capture a record deal with Polygram Records in 1993 Chase knew that this was his calling to become an professional recording artist, Landing his own recording deal with MCA records in 1997 under the name Dangerouz Waterz, putting out a single and video, the relationship was short lived due to creative differences. Chase worked with many producers and artist such as Marley Marl, Pete Rock, John Fortay, and a few others in the years to come. Combining a strong work ethic and persistence love and dedication, Chase worked his way into an up and coming independent record label out of Spanish Harlem, who's roster included the (Queen of Spanish Harlem) "Lumidee" who had the 2003 smash hit "Uhh Ohh", Chase was given the chance to tour Europe with her in the fall of 2003, becoming the opening act at her shows , as a result of Lumidee leaving the label, Chase fell out of contact with Lumidee for 3 years, hooking back up in late 2006 Chase became Lumidee's official hype man and show opener touring around the world with her . Being fed up with the direction Hip Hop music was going Chase reinvented himself and sound teamed up with a talented producer and began a new sound called "Urban Teckno", which takes the elements of Techno Music and Rap, mixes it with a harder feel ,and drum pattern, which gives it an urban sound. In early 2007, Chase signed to Logy Music Ent. An independent record label owned by Lumidee named after her late father. Collaborating with Lumidee on many records Chase got a break in early 2010 with "No Superstar" a record that was signed to Ministries Of Sounds which went top #10 on the Itunes dance charts. Back with his solo debut, Chase teamed up with the Grammy winning recording artist "Fat Man Scoop" to bring you his new club hit called "Hands Up"(if ya getting drunk) which is a up tempo party track with lots of energy and a catchy hook. Signing to M.O.S. in 2011 once again to release his latest project, Chase brings you a new sound to the club scene, as he sings and raps in his own unique interpretation of "Urban Teckno", which will be the name of his upcoming solo album, which will finally see the light of day early 2012
